Who are the Sustainable Transport Team?
The Executive's Sustainable Transport Team has two core roles: to provide advice to Scottish Ministers on sustainable transport and to work with our partners on minimising the adverse impacts of Scottish travel through modal shift and cleaner vehicles and fuels.
Policy areas include:
Sustainable Transport Policy Responsbilities| Policy Area | Name of Team Member |
|---|
| Team Leader and Strategic Traffic Reduction Measures | Kirsty Lewin |
| Walking and Cycling | Karen Furey |
| SMART measures and Travel Planning | Sam Anwar |
| Executive's Travel Plan | Brian O'Donnell |
| Alternative Fuels and Cleaner Vehicles | David Keenan |
The team also takes forward general issues on modal shift, transport and planning, energy and climate change/ambient air quality.
We administer a range of budgets on walking, cycling and travel planning and we work with other colleagues across the Executive - particularly in Education, Health, Environment and Planning.
We work closely with Transport Scotland, local authorities and regional transport partnerships, as well as a range of other organisations including Cycling Scotland, Paths for All, Energy Saving Trust, and Sustrans.
