Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation

• Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2004: Summary Technical Report: Provides users with a clear overview of the methodology used to develop the Index. An Interactive Map and associated Background Data supplement the summary technical report. More detailed information on the construction of the underlying indicators and the technical methodology used to develop the SIMD 2004 can be found in the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2004: Technical Report.

• Long term strategy for measuring deprivation in Scotland
  This is a copy of the final report produced in August 2003, by the Scottish Centre for Research on Social Justice (SCRSJ). The Scottish Executive response to this document has also been published. An interim report by the SCRSJ was published in May 2003.

• Deprived Areas
  A compendium of statistics providing detailed information on the depth and concentration of poverty and disadvantage in deprived areas as defined by the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2004 (SIMD 2004)

Equality

• High Level Summary of Equality Statistics: Key Trends for Scotland 2006
  The HLSES is a compendium of equality statistics which presents statistical trends on the main areas of Government activity in Scotland across a number of equality dimensions including age, disability, ethnicity, gender and in some cases religion. It provides a standardised, concise format for each topic and provides a route into more detailed statistics on earch topic and each equality dimension by listing relevant publications and website.

• Analysis of Religion in the 2001 Census - Summary Report
  The report explores the characteristics of each of the religion groups in Scotland using information collected from the 2001 Census in Scotland.

• Analysis of Ethnicity in the 2001 Census - Summary Report
  The report presents results across the main policy areas covered in the census analysed by ethnic group

• Equality in Scotland : A guide to datasources: This is a website that provides some basic demographic information and helpful links to useful sources of information.

• Disability
  A compendium publication exploring the characteristics and position of disabled people in Scotland.
