This is a new scheme offering support towards the development and delivery of group skills development initiatives for land managers (including farmers, crofters and foresters). The scheme is open to applications from the 23rd June 2008. Applications should be submitted directly to the Scottish Government using form SDS 2 (The contact details are available below.)
The Scheme provides an opportunity to secure a contribution towards the funding of new initiatives aimed at improving land managers' business or countryside management skills.
It is aimed at bodies that represent farming, forestry and other land management industries, or are closely involved with promoting the development of land and business management skills within these industries.
The Scheme aims to build on the success of industry-led or inspired initiatives such as Monitor Farms and Planning to Succeed by providing a dedicated support mechanism.
