Support
Since 2001, over £10 million has been invested to aid the integration of refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland.
This funding has not been purely for the benefit of refugees but also for the benefit of local people in the communities they live in.
Helping refugees to integrate helps vulnerable people create new lives and contribute to their new communities.
The funding includes over £5 million invested in English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) classes, £4 million through the housing and regeneration agency, Communities Scotland, to assist with the integration of asylum seekers and over £1.5 million to projects taking forward integration at a grass roots level through a refugee integration fund.
