Remit
Aims and Objectives:
- To bring together key parties to assist the Scottish Executive in drawing up a technical standard for the use of live CCTV links between courts and between courts and remote locations.
- To assist the Scottish Executive in the consideration of the technical aspects of taking evidence on commission in conjunction with the work of the Training and Communications and Subordinate Legislation sub-groups in this area.
- To assist the Scottish Executive in drawing up a specification for accommodation in respect of CCTV links and taking evidence on commission from remote sites outwith the court setting.
- To advise the Scottish Executive on identifying roles and responsibilities of those selecting and operating remote locations for live links and for taking evidence on commission, and to assist with drawing up of related protocols as and when required.
- To consider how the effectiveness of the Act once implemented, can be monitored and evaluated.
