Civil Court Procedure and Jurisdiction deal with the policy on the jurisdiction of the civil courts in Scotland (Court of Session and Sheriff Courts). The main focus on court procedure is the Sheriff Court Rules Council, the body responsible for keeping Sheriff Court civil procedure under review. The function of the Council is to review the procedure and practice in civil proceedings in the Sheriff Court including the impact any new legislation may have on these procedures and practice.
