Procurement Scotland complies with all procurement policy and procedures as developed by the Scottish Procurement Directorate (SPD). All relevent information, guidelines and documentation for use by the Scottish Public Sector can be found on the SPD website.
It is normal practice to award business through competition which helps to promote Vfm (Value for money) and supports the key elements of the Scottish Government procurement policy. Additionally, international obligations require compliance with the European Union Procurement Directives and the World Trade Organisation Government Procurement Agreement. The Scottish Government also recognises the need to raise awareness amongst buyers of SMEs withe a view to providing a level playing field when bidding for work.
