Efficient Government Fund and Modernising Government Fund

The Efficient Government Fund (EGF) aims to help projects which stimulate a more efficient public sector and demonstrate the liberation of resources for better front line use. It seeks to part fund multi-partner projects which will deploy proven approaches to improvement and aim to deliver more efficient and effective public services.

The Modernising Government Fund (MGF) was first announced to Parliament in February 2000 as a means to support innovation in the public sector, to address policy priorities for modernisation and particularly to support and promote 'joined up' working.
