Awareness and Training

On the 20 & 21 May 2008 an Infrastructure Investment Conference was hosted by the Scottish Government in Edinburgh. The conference followed the publication of the Scottish Government's Infrastructure Investment Plan 2008 which set out the Government's plans for investment in the physical fabric of Scotland.

On 14 February 2008 a one-day seminar was held for Public Sector Bodies to introduce and raise awareness of the Non-Profit Distributing (NPD) model and also to cover revised guidance for PPP projects. The NPD model is the preferred model of the new Scottish Government over the standard PFI model, and is being used whilst the Scottish Futures Trust is developmed. The following slides contain some of the presentations from the seminar.

On 14 June 2006 a one-day seminar was held for Local Authorities who are both currently involved in PPP projects as well as those that are likely to be involved in the near future.

Industry Days

Three industry days (1 October 2002, 27 June 2003, 3 June 2004) have been held to ensure that all parts of the financial, advisory, construction, design, facilities management, and project management sectors have opportunities to learn about the schools PPP programme in Scotland. Up-dates were given on project content and timing, and on supporting initiatives such as the Standard Scottish Schools Contract and the Key Stage Review process.
