Water Environment - Research

The Water Environment Unit uses research to support policy development. Projects undertaken cover a wide range of issues related to the aquatic environment and the types of research commissioned reflect that diversity. Where appropriate, research projects are undertaken jointly with other organisations including SEPA, SNIFFER and others. Recent examples of research include work related to bathing water quality, the Water Framework Directive and aquaculture.
