Scotland's Climate Change Declaration: A Programme of Support for Scottish Local Government
This report published on November 8 2007 considers how local authorities can contribute to the Scottish Government's sustainable development and climate change objectives by providing leadership, setting an example of good practice for their communities, and demonstrating how such action can be taken forward in the broader public sector.
The report was commissioned by the Scottish Government to inform the work of the Scottish Local Authority Climate Change Programme Development Group. The Development Group has been established to support the development of a programme of actions to help local authorities respond to the challenge of climate change.
The members of the Development Group are the Scottish Government, COSLA, SOLACE, SSN (Chair), SNIFFER, Improvement Service, Energy Saving Trust, Carbon Trust and the UK Climate Impacts Programme. The views expressed in this report are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Scottish Government or the individual Development Group members.
