Partnership Matters

Partnership Matters

Partnership Matters was published in January 2005. Its key aims are to define the roles and responsibilities of the various agencies involved in supporting young people with additional needs to attend further education and to encourage partnership working between agencies.

During March 2005, four events were held in Aberdeen, Ayr, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The purpose of the events was to provide an opportunity for key partners to discuss the document and consider issues arising from it. The events also provided a useful opportunity to begin discussions on how partnership working might be developed.

Discussions at the events highlighted a number of common issues and also identified suggested action points for both the Executive and key partners. For ease of reference these points have been collated in a table of actions, which accompanies the summary together with further information that was thought helpful in developing local partnership agreements: Example of Good Practice from Elmwood College, Guidance on Disclosure Checks and a Model Partnership Agreement.
