Many pupils face challenges in their lives that, left unaddressed, would limit their capacity to learn and succeed. Those challenges may be temporary or long term.
Whatever the cause, schools and other children's services must work together to maximise the opportunities for these people to benefit from the learning environment.
All pupils should be supported throughout their education to become confident individuals, successful learners, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society.
