Working Group on Vets and Veterinary Services
The Working Group on Vets and Veterinary Services was set up by the Scottish Executive, Defra and Welsh Assembly Government to reflect the fact that vets are vital partners in the successful delivery of the Animal Health and Welfare strategy. Concern was expressed in the consultations held on the various stages of development of the strategy about the level of provision of these services.
The remit of this initiative is to consider how the problems facing the profession could be mitigated and the opportunities exploited. The evidence gathering phase has now largely concluded and we are working on an action plan with the profession and its clients to take this work forward.
