Land Management Contracts
Modelling work was undertaken to follow up the
report
produced by the
Land
Management Contract Working Group in October 2002. The
modelling work's objectives were to:-
- Identify the menu of measures for the Tier 2 and
Tier 3 payments.
- Advise on the most appropriate payment
mechanisms.
- Suggest the appropriate level of award.
Modelling work took place with about 25 farmers and
crofters between November 2002 and March 2003. The outcome
endorsed the three-tier approach favoured by the
Land
Management Contract Working Group. The report on he
modelling
exercise outlines the background leading up to the
modelling, describes how it was carried out and provides
details of the outcome. The report also provides some
suggestions on the
next steps.
