marketing investments to encourage projects which
demonstrate closer collaboration and linkages between
producers and processors."
Progress
The Scottish Agricultural Organisation Society (SAOS),
through its SEERAD grant related activities, is entirely
focussed on increasing co-operative and collaborative
activity and in shortening the supply chain.
The Scottish Executive has used its grant schemes to
encourage collaborative relationships through giving
priority to applications which demonstrate this. Enterprise
bodies are full partners in the decision making
process.
Current grant schemes expire in 2006 and financial
provision after that date is uncertain.
