Introduction
The Scottish Executive, in co-operation with key stakeholders, is working towards promoting and developing a sustainable and viable organic farming and food sector which will ensure that, as far as possible, demand for organic products is met by Scottish producers while making a strong contribution to the environmental management of Scotland's agricultural land and resources.
The Scottish Executive works closely with the organic sector through the Organic Stakeholders Group (OSG) to achieve this vision. The Stakeholder Group played a key role in the delivery of the Organic Action Plan and has been equally integral to the publication of the Third Annual Report launched in February 2007
In January 2005 the Organic Stakeholders Marketing Group was established as a subgroup of the OSG to help the industry to exploit key market opportunities through contributing to policy and developing practical solutions.
