Some people are more likely than others to be intimidated, harassed or attacked. For example gay men are more likely to be attacked than other men. Disabled people may be attacked or harassed because of their disability. This is called hate crime. The Scottish Executive has set up a group to look at this.

You can look at the list at the back of this booklet which explains what we mean by being assaulted or harassed.

The group wants to know what you think. You can tell them by answering some questions.

Glossary

Assaulted - Hit, spat at, punched, kicked, things thrown at you, hair pulled, touched in a rude way, poked or prodded or pushed around Harassed
- being followed, called names, shouted at, laughed at, made fun of, pointed at. Intimidated
- made to feel frightened by someone being very near to you or saying scary things, threatened with being hit, maybe more than one person doing these things. Robbed
- having something taken away from you - money, mobile phone, messages or packages, hats, scarves.
