Scottish Executive Publications List 2001

General Information and How to Obtain Publications

The annual Scottish Executive Publications List contains every publication authored by The Scottish Executive in 2001, which was placed in the Scottish Executive Library and Information Service (SELIS).

COVERAGE

1. The List does not aim to include all "SE series" papers laid before the Scottish Parliament by Scottish Executive ministers unless authored by the core Scottish Executive departments. Where documents are part of the "SE series" this is indicated. Items such as Acts, Bills or Statutory Instruments of the Scottish Parliament, which are published by The Stationery Office, are not included. This material is available on the HMSO web site http://www.scotland-legislation.hmso.gov.uk/.

Please note that in this edition consultation papers are included under each department as well as in a separate section.

2. The List does not aim to include publications produced by the Executive Agencies and Associated Departments of the Scottish Executive or of the Non Departmental Public Bodies monitored by the Scottish Executive. These bodies generally produce their own publication lists and make publications available on their own web sites. Their web sites and, where available, electronic versions of their publications can be located using http://www.ukonline.gov.uk/.

5. A complete bibliographic record of United Kingdom Official Publications (UKOP) is maintained on behalf of Government by The Stationery Office Limited (TSO) and ProQuest Information and Learning. UKOP is the authoritative offical catalogue of the output of government, spanning 20 years of government information. The online database is updated daily and, in order to ensure its completeness, all Departments are required to provide a copy of each title or document which they issue, whether it is published or distributed by itself or a commercial publisher (but excluding any titles published by TSO) to:

HOW TO OBTAIN PRINT COPIES OF PUBLICATIONS

6. The table below shows how to obtain printed copies of the various categories of publication.

7. Publications available from The Stationery Office Bookshop

The Stationery Office (TSO) Bookshop is responsible for selling and distributing all publications within this publication except for circulars and consultation papers or where a different contact is clearly stated.

Postage is free on all publications published by The Scottish Executive. The public library discount is available on all priced publications published by The Scottish Executive.

The site is full of information regarding government in Scotland as well as containing full text copies of virtually all the publications listed in the Scottish Executive Publications List. Where possible in the List, URLs are given for the electronic version of the publication. Please note that at time of publication all URL addresses were correct, although since then some may have been changed.
