COST OF THE SUMMER CABINETS PROGRAMME, 2008:
At the meeting of the Scottish Cabinet held on 27 May 2008, it was agreed to hold a programme of events - centred around a Cabinet meeting - at different locations across Scotland, during the summer recess. Each 2-day programme would provide an opportunity for the Ministerial team to engage with communities, meet a range of stakeholders and discuss the Scottish Government's proposals for taking forward the strategic priorities. The 4 locations settled on were: Dumfries (28-29 July); Inverness (4-5 August); Pitlochry (18-19 August); and Skye (25-26 August).
The summer Cabinets programme is widely considered to have been a success and it is anticipated that a similar programme will take place in the summer of 2009. The tables below set out the total costs of the programme as well as providing a breakdown of costs by location.
